Economist 3.28 Summary War in Yemen Riyadh enters the fray ( documentary study)

Summary  As Saudi Arabia, Sunni sects, starts airstrike, Yemen recently became one of the most controversial regions in the world. The air-raid resulted from an advance of Houthi rebels, Shia sects, toward Aden where they took an important military installation northwest of Aden. Aden is a strategically important southern port in Yemen. Also, Saudi could not ignore an existence of the rival, Iran anymore. Iran has supported Houthi rebels for so long. And this bombing is rather complicated as it was involved in 10 countries that are largely Gulf states, Jordan, and Egypt. Saudi aimed to withdraw the Houthis and reinstate President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi. But many Yemenis thought this attack will trigger more fights. Unfortunately, it seems to be true that military dispute is leading to an expansion between Sunni and Shia. That’s why Yemen is hard to avoid facing to a battleground for the time being.
